Scottie dog, top hat or race car?

Scottie dog, top hat or race car? {Monopoly tokens)

Posted on January 13, 2017April 5, 2026 by jenny

My favourite board game growing up was Monopoly. I loved it and was always the Scottie Dog token. I’m not sure why my favourite was Monopoly but I’ve always loved building a property empire and making lots of money! Earlier today I played a game of Monopoly with my son and I quickly bought up my favourite properties – the brown ones, the purple ones and the train stations. I have always played like this and it really felt as though it wasn’t 15 years since my last game, but 15 minutes!

Monopoly money

Thankfully my son enjoyed our game too and we’ve already set it up for another game tonight when everyone gets home. He loves sorting out the money and both children have been trying to pick the token they want to play.

As if it wasn’t hard enough to choose your favourite token from the original 8 we have been playing the brand new MONOPOLY Token Madness game from Hasbro. This contains 16 tokens, 8 classic silver tokens, and 8 golden tokens. I immediately grabbed the Scottie dog, my children eventually decided on the penguin and bunny slipper.

Monopoly Token Madness Vote

Good news for Monopoly fans as MONOPOLY is planning a shakeup of the current and much-loved tokens! This year the makers of MONOPOLY have launched the Token Madness Vote, which leaves the fate of the eight current MONOPOLY tokens, including the much-loved Scottie dog, top hat and race car, in the hands of the fans. Fans worldwide can visit www.VoteMonopoly.com to choose eight tokens that they’d like to see in the next generation of the MONOPOLY game. Choose from a list of more than 50 contenders including the current tokens and new options such as a penguin, rubber ducky and bunny!

Clearly our family will be supporting the Scottie dog. We received a fun package containing some great props which my son has been wearing all week! He’s been telling everyone about all the new tokens but I think I’ve persuaded him that the Scottie dog needs to stay.

MONOPOLY Token Madness is priced around £24.99 and available from Amazon and other good toy shops.

I like the Scotty dog. I hope he wins! Of course being a dog lover that’s the one I would pick!

It’s a tough choice but I hope the dog stays too 🙂

I always used to go for the dog too! I’m going to have to vote now.
