Monday Happy List – week 114

our new entertainment centre

This time of year seems crazy busy, so it’s fitting that I barely sat down last week. Here are my 5 favourite things from the previous week – my Monday Happy List.

We painted our cavernous living room cum dining room in white which has made it feel much more clean and modern. We also bought and built a huge media/entertainment unit which now houses our tv and has lots of hidden storage. We have a modern house so it suits the room perfectly. The living room feels instantly more grown up although I’m still getting used to not having a fireplace.

We’ve done a lot of Christmas crafting this week, mainly after school. My favourite has to be our fingerprint elves. My 6 year old made a great piece of art showing Santa’s Workshop but he also made us a picture of the whole family elves. It’s really lovely and something I will be treasuring for ever. I also finally got round to making some Tunnocks’-inspired baubles from all the wrappers I have carefully been keeping.

Last week some big brand collaborations finally went live which was exciting but also quite nerve wracking. I collaborated with White Stuff, the Disney Store and M&S and got the chance to make a craft tutorial, host a tea party for our favourite Disney characters and learn the art of wrapping, which was all really fun.

The end of the week was very hectic, finalising my daughter’s 5th birthday party which took place on Saturday. I’m really shy so 20 kids and their parents at our local soft play wasn’t really my idea of a fun day. However my daughter had a great time with her friends and she loved her amazing Paw Patrol cake.

Somehow we managed to squeeze in a visit to the Playmobil Grotto at our local shopping centre yesterday. I also got to choose my Christmas present at the Apple Store but I can’t decide whether to keep it until Christmas Day or start wearing it now!

Have a great week everyone!

You have given me an excuse to buy Tunnocks Tea Cakes next time I go shopping. I love the idea of using the wrapping to make a bauble. Looks as though you had a busy but productive week.

Busy busy, I know exactly where you’re coming from. But you did good; The fingerprint elves are adorable. Given me an inspired idea for my four year old. Lovely.
