Christmas gingerbread handmade playing sewing

Cookies for Santa {Wild Olive fabric cookies}

fabric gingerbread cookies for kids to play with

You know how much I love anything gingerbread so I’m warning you that I have a few more posts planned over the next few weeks. Last year I bought some gorgeous fabric from Spoonflower. I’ve mentioned Spoonflower before, it’s a great place to discover fabric, wall paper and gift wrap.

I knew that my children weren’t going to be short of toys last year but I couldn’t resist making them a plate of pretend cookies for their play kitchen.

I’m made a few Wild Olive patterns before so when Mollie mentioned she had designed a fun fabric cookies panel I knew I had to buy it.

The fabric panel featured several cute gingerbread cookies so you can Stitch up some Cookies for Santa! I cut around each cookie then pinned the right sides together and stitched around them on my machine (leaving a small gap).

I turned them out, added some batting and hand stitched them closed. A few of the cookies I stitched around each print from the front – I like both ways! There was enough to make two cookies of each style.

I love anything with a face and this was a super quick festive make. I’m hoping I can fit in a few more before Christmas.

    These are super cute and such a great idea. They look easy to make too.
