A new mini quilt for our home

Wild Olive Stitching Clubs

It feels as if I’ve lost my crafting mojo lately. You think there will be more time for crafting in the colder months but I seem to be busier than ever. The only thing I have been making time for is the latest Wild Olive Stitching Club. This week I finally put the last stitch in place to finish off a new mini quilt for our home.

I’ve taken part in a few Wild Olive Stitching Clubs. You get sent a pattern to stitch every week via email and they build up to make a quilt. The latest Stitching Club was titled Around the House Stitching Club. I love the challenge of stitching on hexies and making something new, plus it’s always good to make time for something creative like this.

This time round we were challenged to photograph our finished hexie in a place related to the subject we had stitched.  You can probably guess where I photographed the toaster and carton of juice

As I was managing to keep up with the weekly stitching patterns, I tried to work on the extra pieces to help finish the mini quilt too. I cut diamonds from patterned fabric, and the edge pieces from some special Wild Olive fabric I bought ages ago.

It was a really colourful little thing to work on and even came away with us to Devon on our family holiday. I got it to this stage then it sat in this state for quite a few weeks.

I finally put my laptop down and finished it in about 2 hours. I was really annoyed with myself for leaving it so long but I love the finished mini quilt.

I’ve signed up for another weekly stitching club so I must start sharing my progress on Instagram to make sure I keep taking part.
