16 gingerbread Halloween ideas

Posted on October 12, 2014September 15, 2025 by jenny

I’ve been Pinning lots of seasonal ideas for our gingerbread baking but totally overlooked making gingerbread for Halloween. Gingerbread has such a lovely smell and taste it’s perfectly suited to these dark evenings and special celebrations.

I’ve brought together a list of 16 gingerbread Halloween ideas. Have fun reading through them!

16 gingerbread Halloween ideas - the gingerbread house

You can dress up your gingerbread man as a vampire gingerbread man, gingerdead men, make a spooky mummy for Halloween or even Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. These trick or treat cookies are fun, just simple gingerbread men decorated with chocolate icing or if you fancy something more elaborate take a look at this wonderful Day of the Dead gingerbread man.

There are some brilliant shapes for Halloween treats and I really like these pumpkin spice cutout cookies made using some lovely Autumnal shapes such as pumpkins, leaves and acorns. Pumpkins and ghosts are fun, as is this cute pumpkin kid cookie.

If you need somewhere for your gingerbread men to live in then there are some amazing gingerbread Halloween houses out there. I don’t think I have the patience to make anything like that but I think I could make this fun Halloween gingerbread tree.

I love this idea of pumpkin baskets although I’ not sure I could eat them they’re so pretty, they would make a sweet table decoration though.

If you’ve had your fill of Halloween gingerbread biscuits then I have a couple more suggestions for you. There are some fun variations I found whilst looking on Pinterest, these range from pumpkin ginger doodles, pumpkin-gingerbread ice cream sandwiches, pumpkin gingerbread biscotti and bite-sized gingerbread pumpkin spice cookies. Have fun baking!

All great ideas. I wish I was talented enough to make the Gingerbread Halloween house.
