Exploring The BFG Dream Jar Trail in London

We’ve had a couple of trips into the West End recently and managed to tick off some of The BFG Dream Jars that are currently in place around the country until 31st August. The majority of the sculptures are in London so we’re planning a few more trips over the holidays so we can visit more.

The BFG Dream Jar Trail brings to life the long-held dreams of celebrities and artists with Dream Jars across London and beyond. Each jar contains “splendiferous” sculptures based on dream stories from the likes of Steven Spielberg, Stephen Hawking, the Delevingne sisters and more.

You can find a map of all of them on this website as well as a little more about each sculpture. At the end of the trail they will be auctioned off for charity.

My children love the stories of Roald Dahl but they also love sculpture trails. We visited a few previous ones, such as the 2014 BookBench trail, 2014 Padington Trail, 2015 Shaun the Sheep statues, 2015 Miffy Art Parade and the 2015 Barons’ Charter sculpture trail. They are a fun way to explore London and the children seem to enjoy them as much as we do.

Anyway, the BFG Dream Jar Trail is a great celebration of Roald Dahl and a lovely way to raise money for charity too.

  1. This reminds me of the Shaun the Sheep trail last year, this is such a lovely idea too. I love Roald Dahl, we’re visiting next weekend so I may have to try and find some 🙂
