Regular readers will know I *love* subscription boxes and it seems my children do too! We’ve worked with Weekend Box a few times and they were kind enough to send us one of their Mini Weekend Boxes to review. In case you’re wondering what a Mini Weekend Box is, it contains TWO full activities with all the bits you need (excluding regular items like scissors), delivered in a neat box which fits right through your letterbox. They are designed for people who love their Weekend Boxes but didn’t always get around to finishing their boxes.

Mini Weekend Box review
After reading through both activities he decided which one to make first, to Grow a Rainforest in an empty bottle. This was fun and he enjoyed watching the soil pellets grow when added to water. We’ve placed the bottle on a sunny windowsill and hope to see the seeds sprouting soon.
The second activity was to make a Parrot Mask. My year old was able to make this almost independently of me. I helped him with a bit of the cutting out but he was happy reading and following the instructions.

The Mini Weekend Box kept him busy for a good hour although I admit he did it straight after school yesterday as he couldn’t wait! The box contains a certificate which can be coloured in when both activities have been finished. I really like the Mini Weekend Box. I think it represents good value for money although I didn’t feel that glue stick and crayons needed to be included as we already have these at home.
Both my children love making things and I was happy that the box contained two things we had never tried before. They are great for stimulating inquisitive minds and I love the fact we were able to use something out of our recycling box. I would definitely recommend both the Bumper Weekend Box (£7.50) and Mini Weekend Box (£4.95) for crafty families like ours.

Mini Weekend Box costs just £4.95 including FREE delivery! They arrive fortnightly but you can pause or cancel your boxes at any time – there are no contracts and no commitment, they bill you individually for each box!
