Get more from your weekend with a Weekend Box {and free code!}

Posted on January 23, 2014June 5, 2020 by jenny

Over the weekend we tried out a Weekend Box, it’s a clever little box which fits neatly through your letter box and contains four activities:

Something to Cook
Something to Make
Something to Explore and
Something Green

Each activity is designed to build sensory exploration skills within little ones aged 3-8 as well as help teach them about different life skills in a fun and engaging way. Our box contained 4 instruction cards to make potato boats, DIY 3D glasses, Sand Art Explorers and a Lolly Stick Bird Feeder as well as 4 paper packets with the equipment needed.

I’m glad I took this photograph because as soon as my 3 year old saw the box he immediately wanted to open everything! I let him choose which activity we did first so we made the Lolly Stick Bird Feeder. Everything was supplied so we glued the sticks to make a tray and set it aside to dry.

Then we made the DIY 3D glasses. These were fun to make but confused my son as he didn’t really understand 3D. Finally we prepared the potato boats (I had already read the instructions and bought a couple of things in advance). My son enjoyed helping me with this activity as I never normally let him help prepare meals. He and his sister were happy to eat their potato boats too.

The activities took a reasonable amount of time to make and kept my 3 year old occupied. Today we finished off his bird feeder which now proudly hangs in our garden. I think the Weekend Box is a great idea. The activities and instructions have been well thought out and it’s easy to see how they can be embellished and added to according to age.

Weekend Box was established after the owner became frustrated when he was buying gifts for his young niece and nephew. He wanted to buy something educational yet fun, something that stimulated creativity and not something plasticky made in a factory in China. When he couldn’t find anything he quit his job and started developing!

If you like the look of a Weekend Box I have a unique promo code to share with you so you can get your first box for free (including free delivery).

My unique promo code is JENNY45 and can be redeemed at www.weekendboxclub.com

As an extra special bonus for my readers, they’ve decided that during January AND ONLY with my unique promo code above, anyone signing up to Weekend Box will also get ALL future boxes for just £5 each (normally £7.50). That’s a fantastic deal and I’d urge you to take a look!
