Christmas cupcake wreath

Simple Christmas cupcake wreath

Posted on November 15, 2012November 19, 2018 by jenny

When Whitworths challenged me to use their new baking sugars at home they asked me to try a couple of recipes from their own website and one of my own. So far I’ve made Butternut Squash soup using Whitworths Light Soft Brown Sugar, and Honeycomb Crunch using Whitworths Granulated Sugar. Both recipes were pretty simple and delicious.

Most of my thoughts are now on the festive season so it made sense to bake something yummy with a seasonal twist. I thought of an edible seasonal wreath, a Christmas cupcake wreath!

I made the wreath in a couple of stages to fit around the children. First I baked some tasty vanilla cupcakes using Whitworths Fine Caster Sugar. When they had cooled I decorated them with a peppermint buttercream, made with Whitworths Superfine Icing Sugar and a dash of green food colouring.

Then came the fun part! Each cupcake was finished off with red and green jelly beans to look like holly and berries. I arranged the finished cakes in a circle, what do you think?

Whitworths has recently launched a new ‘Whitworths for Baking’ range, comprising of six high quality baking sugars, as well as an icing sugar duster, which have been made and packaged especially with home bakers in mind. I’ve loved being part of the #BakingSOS campaign for Whitworths Sugars. If, like me, you have any baking questions then check out the helpful Baking SOS guide on their website.
