I love working with Miles Kelly. Not only do they publish brilliant books they also come up with some really fun ideas to celebrate and promote reading. I’m sure you’re all well aware that World Book Day is coming up soon which is one of the biggest celebrations of children’s books and reading. This year my 3 year old will be going to nursery in his favourite pyjamas and taking his favourite book with him. We’ve also received a book voucher which we’re looking forward to spending soon.
Celebrating World Book Day with Miles Kelly
I was offered the chance to celebrate with Miles Kelly by becoming a secret World Book Day giver. Basically, a little like Secret Santa, I was tasked with choosing a book from the Miles Kelly catalogue for another blogger and their family. I spent a happy hour or two looking through the Miles Kelly catalogue and chose a copy of British Wildlife Handbook for Cherished By Me and her family. I really hope they enjoy the book.
We were pretty delighted to receive a copy of Make Safari Animals which was a perfect choice for my crafty children. The book contains 15 animal crafts that turn into things you can use. You can make a zebra rocking card, a hippo bookend or a crocodile secret safe. There’s also a great poster showing what the safari animals look like in real life and more than 180 eye stickers to use.
We can’t wait to get started! The projects are clearly set out with a list of equipment needed and clear illustrated instructions. Each project also has a handy key so you can see how much help is needed, how long the project takes and how difficult it is on a scale of 1 to 3. Thank you Miles Kelly for making World Book Day extra special!
