It’s summertime and the reading is easy! We were recently given the opportunity to design and make a personalised book from love2read. Designed for the under-sixes, these fabulous books are an ideal way to use some of your precious digital photos and make a book to remember. I made an I Love…book for my toddler by choosing my favourite photos and adding simple captions. The toddler loved seeing himself in print and following the words on each page, a great way to encourage him to start learning his letters. He’s been taking his new book everywhere and loves to sit down and read it with someone!
love2read’s website is full of templates, all you have to do is pick the one that you want, upload your ten digital photos and then add some simple text. There is a wide selection of templates to choose from including – My holiday…. Our holiday…. My first holiday… My trip to the zoo… If you can’t find the title you are looking for select the Your own title… template to create your own, the possibilities are endless!
You can follow love2read on Facebook where you will find information on how to help your child to read and activities to encourage early literacy skills.
Giveaway:
I’ve teamed up with love2read and am pleased to offer one lucky reader the opportunity to create their own love2read My holiday… book in my fabulous competition.
Whether you’re going away or just spending time chilling by the paddling pool and enjoying days out, your child will love to read their own personalised holiday book and it’s sure to become a keepsake to treasure forever of the special time you spent together.
To enter the competition simply complete the Rafflecopter form.

July 31, 2013 at 9:01 amOur favourite days out are having a picnic by the streamat Slayley in Northumberland. It is beautiful there and we build a fire and cook bacon sandwiches and boil our whistling kettle! The kids love playing Pooh Sticks over the tiny bridge and they collect wood and braken for the fire. It is always a great day out – plenty of fresh air, playing with the ball and frisby and walking. No computer games/tv etc – just fresh air and fun! Our dog enjoys it too and we always stop at the ice cream van on the way home!

August 4, 2013 at 3:33 pmMy favourite Day Out, best day out I had was years ago on a visit to Germany. We went to a theme park (I believe it was called phantasialand). It was a wonderfully sunny July day. We had nice refreshments at the park. Enjoyed our walk around the park and the rides etc. What was truly wonderful was how easy it was to get to and from. As we had asked the friends we were staying with for information regarding places to visit etc. We had thought we would need to visit tourist information or a travel agent. Our friends told us of theme park, and advised us to buy tickets at the local train station. These tickets would be transport (train and bus) and admission to park. It was a truly wonderful day, park busy, as local holiday, very well organised with signposts etc.

August 8, 2013 at 8:25 pmI Love spending time with my daughter weather it be a day in the house with books, dvd, and munchies or going out on a day trip. I try to make every day special for my princess because i am so lucky to have her, when she was 3 days old she was diagnosed with scalded skin syndrome, there was only a 25% chance of survival. I now have a very bright and happy 5 year old and all our days are special.
