Today I am taking part in a Beatrix Potter blog tour. Welcome to anyone who has been signposted to here from Laura at Side Street Style. The blog tour continues tomorrow with Clare at Emmy’s Mummy.
As I mentioned in my post about the delicious Mr McGregor’s (Chocolate) Patch cake we made, this year we celebrate 150 Years of Beatrix Potter. She is most famous for the Peter Rabbit stories which she wrote and illustrated, but was also a successful businesswoman, botanist, conservationist and farmer.
I was so happy to be asked to take part in this special blog tour as I grew up with the stories of Beatrix Potter. My sister and I shared a beautiful set of her stories which we still have, although I have to admit a few of the pages might have our scribbles on them! We both loved the stories and have re-read them with our own children, and we have 5 between us. I always found the stories simple but beautifully told, the illustrations really bringing each character to life.
Did you know that Peter Rabbit is the oldest licensed character in the world? Beatrix Potter registered him at the Patent Office in December 1903, after overseeing the creation of the first Peter Rabbit doll. There are some wonderful events and products around to commemorate 150 Years of Beatrix Potter.
We can’t wait to go and see The Peter Rabbit Adventure Playground at Willows Activity Farm later this year. The Peter Rabbit Adventure Playground is part of a full family fun day out at Willows Activity Farm including farmyard animals, Tristan the Runaway Tractor, funfair rides, adventure play with all-weather indoor play too (family ticket RRP £76, discounts up to 25% are available online when purchasing in advance). It is located near St Albans, and I know the children will have a great day there.
Have you seen the milk chocolate version of Peter Rabbit from Charbonnel et Walker? It shows this delightful rabbit in his adorable blue coat and would make a delicious Easter treat for little ones (RRP £15).
Win a bundle of Beatrix Potter goodies worth over £70
I have an amazing giveaway to share with you. There is one prize consisting of a bundle of Peter Rabbit goodies which include a Peter Rabbit bodysuit (RRP £8), hat and mitt set (£8), and super soft grey shawl (RRP £20) from the Mothercare Peter Rabbit Baby Range, perfect for a new baby; a Gund Soft Peter Rabbit Toy (RRP £9.95 ); Peter Rabbit Baby Milestone Cards from Puffin Books( RRP £9.99); and a family ticket to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in the Lake District (RRP £20).
For your chance to win this lovely prize (pictured above) please enter via the Rafflecopter widget below. Please note you must answer the question to enter the giveaway and there are bonus entries too. The giveaway ends on 30th March and the winners name will appear on this post.
