Win a £50 Amazon voucher

In the UK we’ve just seen the longest prolonged heatwave in seven years. In fact yesterday was the hottest day since July 2006. It’s been pretty tough keeping the children happy and out of the sun but we’ve kept busy with lots of crafts. I even managed to sew these fun felt ice lollies, slightly less calories than the ones we have been indulging in!

  1. 2006 was the last heatwave but 1976 was the last one this long? Trick question?

  2. Lets be honest, the most recent was 2006, but for anyone over 40 the best by far was 1976

  3. Well, according to Wikipedia it was March 2012…but I can’t say I remember it!

  4. The answer is 2006.
I remember because I had to get up at 5.30 every day to walk my puppy as she couldn’t cope with the heat any later in the morming! 🙂

  5. It would be fantastic to win this to buy some books for my daughter for school, it would help me out sooooo much!! Thankyou xxx

  6. The last heatwave was 2006, but wasn’t as hot or long as 1976. All I know is that we don’t have enough heatwaves.

  7. 2006

I was disappointed I couldn’t gloat as much on holiday in Turkey as it was almost the same temperature in the UK.
