Little Sis is too young to be stealing from my make up bag so where’s my make up? We had a family photo last week and, wanting to look my best, was looking for makeup. I have drawers of bottles and potions and presumed there was something at the bottom of it all. A lipstick, a mascara wand, eyeshadow trio. Something.
But guess what?
Nada.
Just cotton buds, hair grips and a button. And some fluff.
Pre-children I had an Aveda card. I could afford to shop there and bought lots of small, pretty expensive things. They made me look and feel good. They went hand in hand with the nice clothes I wore and the collection of Orla Kiely handbags I regularly rotated. Oh how my husband is now stuck for gifts now I no longer have an office job and need a decent bag!
So what happened to the makeup? It obviously got thrown away along with my pelvic floor and brain. I really needed something to hide the shadows under my eyes so I did what any self-respecting mother did, I just hid behind my children.

Oh how I know this feeling!!!!
Oh, I know that feeling!!!!!
I have various odds and ends of makeup, just no time or inclination to apply it properly! Wouldn’t you just love a make-up artist and hairdresser for the mornings?
What a fab idea, if they could double up as a childminder, cook and cleaner I would be even happier!
