I am so ready for something to celebrate and bring some colour into our lives again! I always find January a difficult month so have been eagerly looking for signs of Spring. This week we’ve spotted catkins in the trees, snowdrops on the ground and the bunches of daffodils I bought have been blooming with colour.
Next month we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day on the 14th February and I couldn’t resist a few crafts with my children. My son adores the art of origami and had so much fun making a bunch of Valentine paper heart origami bookmarks. These are easy to make and a lovely practical gift. You can easily decorate and give as a personalised gift this Valentine’s Day.

How to fold a Valentine paper heart origami bookmark
Take a piece of origami craft paper, or cut out a square piece of paper for your Origami Heart Bookmark.
Fold the paper into a triangle.
Then again, fold the triangle in half.
Open up the fold it will create a vertical crease on the middle.
Now, take the right corner of the triangle and bring down do the end of the crease aligned with the vertical line.
Similarly, bring the left corner of the triangle downwards.
Now open up the folds again.
Take the top part of the triangle and bring it upwards.
Fold it along with the creases.
Fold back the right and left corners.
Trim the edges of the points.
Now take the left portion, and fold it inwards.
Similarly, fold the right part as well.
Draw a heart shape on the bookmark, then cut it along the lines to finish making your heart bookmark.
Although there are a few steps to go through, once you have made one you won’t be able to stop making these Valentine paper heart origami bookmarks. Make them in every colour you can and slip them over the corner of the page to keep your place.
