I love eating fish and always make sure the toddler eats a healthy portion at least once a week too. One of our favourite recipes is for tuna pasta bake. It’s really quick to put together and I always make plenty so I can freeze a couple of portions.
Ingredients:
Dried pasta (I usually use 60g per adult and used 240g for this recipe)
1 onion, chopped
garlic puree
1 tin of Reel Fish tuna
1 tin of chopped tomatoes (400g)
sprinkle of dried mixed herbs
grated cheese for the top
Method:
Cook the dried pasta, drain, and leave to one side. Fry the onion and garlic over a low heat, then add the tuna and heat thoroughly. Add the tin of chopped tomatoes with the herbs and season well. Leave to simmer for 5-10 minutes.
I was sent some tins of tuna from The Reel Fish Co. to try. I used one tin for this recipe and another one for tuna mayonnaise, delicious with jacket potatoes! The Reel Fish Co. tuna is caught by one method only, that’s one-by-one by fishermen using a pole and line. The tuna is never caught using nets and is fished sustainably from the Maldives. We thought it tasted delicious – great food with a conscience!
