I don’t know about you but I am struggling to feeling energised this New Year. I have a brand new diary, am de-cluttering like a mad person, but just feel a little sluggish and tired after a hectic Christmas. So I thought I would share my top tips for a healthy start to the New Year.
Top tips for a healthy start to the New Year
I’ve been following Slimming World for the last 10 months but had a break over Christmas. I really felt it. My diet suffered which has had a knock on effect on my body. Since the children went back to school I’ve been eating more healthily and can’t wait for weigh in on Tuesday.
There can be a lot of parties and social events in the run up to Christmas and New Year so give your eyes a break from contact lenses and wear your glasses. I love my glasses and have been wearing them more recently.
Have an early night. I received some amazing books for Christmas and it has been a joy to take some time for myself and read in bed. I’m terribly addicted to playing Animal Crossing on my iPhone but have been really enjoying The Book of Dust by Philip Pullman and look forward to reading a few chapters at night.
I adore mulled wine and drank quite a lot over Christmas. For some reason it just doesn’t taste like wine and I can drink lots of it. Again, my body really suffered so I’ve been drinking more water to ensure my skin, eyes and body are all re-hydrated.
Too many late nights have left me with tired and puffy eyes. I found a few ideas on Pinterest for DIY face and eye masks, or invest in eye drops to help reduce red eye.
Try something new! Life is busy and it’s easy to get sucked into Instagram or Facebook to see what everyone is up to. I was recently sent a copy of Nib and Ink and bought myself a Calligraphy set. I can’t wait to carve out some time for myself to try a new hobby. Apparently calligraphy is the new trend for 2018 so why not try a new hobby and invest in yourself and put that phone away!
I would love to hear your top tips for a healthy start to the New Year. It’s so important to look after ourselves – now seems like a great time to start.

January 6, 2018 at 4:24 pmA good healthy tip is: at least 5 minutes every day, no phones, internet, tv or any distraction at all. Sit on the floor and just think of nothing at all. Truly disconnect from the world everyday for 5 minutes.
