Yesterday I was out shopping with my daughter when I spotted a candle with the words “tired as a mother” on it. I love candles so bought it and lit it this evening. There’s something really soothing about lighting a candle after the children have gone to bed. Then it’s finally my time to relax and let’s face it, after half term I’m feeling pretty tired.
As much as I love my children, looking after them is a full-time job. We have had a busy half term with days out, trips to the park, playdates, baking, crafting and watching films. We’ve actually done a lot but then my children have a lot of energy. Quiet mornings at home are only good if the afternoon is super busy.
Fortunately they both sleep well at night. They’ve both been tasked with tidying their rooms this half term which means their bedrooms are a lovely, calming place to be – just like my own bedroom. I also love to sleep and fall asleep quite easily, especially after a day with my children! It helps that I have the world’s comfiest bed. My husband has always insisted that we have a decent bed and mattress to sleep on and for once I’m glad I listened to him.
I think everyone knows that it’s essential to have a good mattress as it really effects how you sleep. When I first moved to London I slept on a futon with a really thin mattress. I find it funny that I remember the bed more than my flatmates!
Since my children came along I’ve definitely got a lot less sleep than I need. I find that I stay up late trying to squeeze in everything I need, which means the sleep I do get has to be good.
Bed Guru is an online bed retailer who are sleep specialists, they understand that no two people share the same sleeping requirements, not just as a belief but as an obligation to ensure that everybody gets a great night’s sleep! They have a great range of mattresses and I’ve been having a look to see what mattress we could get when we replace our old one. I find a memory foam mattress suits us both really well. Did you know that memory foam softens in reaction to body heat, allowing it to mold to a warm body in a few minutes?

February 19, 2018 at 6:56 pmI’d love a memory foam mattress! I’m actually in a hotel now that could do with one 😉
I agree with lighting a candle too! Nothing better than a comfy bed and soothing candle!
