On the seventh day of Christmas we decided it was about time Edward met Father Christmas. Our local Isle of wight Steam Railway are running Santa Specials on certain weekends in December so we decided to have a family outing. Included in the price of the ticket was a trip on the steam train, mince pies and mulled wine, a magic show, bouncy castle and a trip to meet Father Christmas.
Isle of Wight Steam Railway Santa Special
My 6 year old niece loved every second. She’s just the right age where she questions everything about Father Christmas but still believes in him. Unfortunately she knew straight away that today’s Father Christmas was not real. “He kept pulling his beard. I saw the string!” she said.
Edward wasn’t too sure either.
We dressed him up in a very cute Little Elf outfit and Next do a very similar one. Sadly Next don’t sell clothes for Father Christmas (who was definitely in need of a new outfit!). However they do sell doormats to welcome him to your home, Santa Stop Here signs to make sure he finds your house, and sacks to leave out to be filled with presents for the good girls and boys in your house.
We loved the ride on the steam train too.
It was a fun Christmas experience and we can’t wait to visit again soon.
