A Bank Holiday weekend is a great time to catch up on some reading. A few weeks ago we were gifted some lovely craft books, such as Make and Mend, which we’ve already featured here. The other book we received was The Paper FloristL create and display stunning paper flowers by Suzi McLaughlin.
The Paper Florist by Suzi McLaughlin
Paper flowers are not only beautiful, but incredibly versatile. From simple home decorations and gorgeous gifts to unique centrepieces and one-off bouquets, all made from basic materials, Suzi McLaughlin’s step-by-step tutorials cover an array of flowers such as bluebells, peonies, poppies, cherry blossom and more. Make delicate lifelike flowers, or let your imagination run and create playful hybrids. Adorn your home with colour and style with just a few simple steps.
The flowers are accompanied by templates for every shape used in the book, as well as instructions on how to display your creations to their full potential. Whether you want to make a gloriously blousy bouquet, a bejewelled cherry blossom branch or an impressive floral centrepiece, this book is sure to delight and inspire. I love crafting with paper and there are so many projects I can’t wait to try.
Suzi McLaughlin’s life-size paper garden was awarded an RHS gold medal and featured on BBC Gardeners’ World Live Show. She creates bespoke installations for Jo Malone, Harrods and Elle.
The Paper Florist was published in February 2019 by Kyle Books, priced £18.99
