The theme for The Gallery had me thinking and looking back through my archives for pictures of trees. My son is obsessed by them and spent the first few months of his life sitting in his pushchair and watching the trees above him. However. before I found a suitable picture I remembered what my husband did at the weekend.
We love geocaching and find it a great way to get out and about. Last weekend we went out for a walk round Ealing and bookmarked a couple of geocaches. One of them was in an unusual place.
Yes, that’s my husband climbing a tree for the first time in his life. Little man and I sat back and watched in amazement but he did it and was very pleased with himself. At least he’ll be able to teach our son when he’s older!
This post was written for Week 50 of The Gallery: trees.

tehe I can only just see your husband, its great acting like a child every now and again.
Smiling at your hubby experiencing tree climbing for the first time! Men!! Boys!! Lol
Boys will be boys 🙂
I’d actually never heard of geocaching before so thanks for this post.
I spent most of my childhood perched up in a tree, can’t believe this was your husband’s first clamber!
great take on the theme and well done your husband!
fab x
His first time?! I thought boys couldn’t keep away from tree climbing?!! (I was rubbish at it.)
Hope your husband had fun! :o)
Just shows it’s never to late to have a second childhood 😀
Feeling quite inspired! x
Bless him! Geocaching makes people do the strangest things! We had a very exciting off piste adventure last weekend doing the same thing!
Ha! Never too old for climbing trees 😉
Didn’t spot the man in the tree straight away! Boys huh 🙂
nice picture my husband would do the sames lol 🙂
Ohhh. You aren’t far from us then *waves from the other side of the A40* My second post was a Geocaching based one too!
LOL Great picture! We have looking into this geocaching. Sounds like a great way to get the kids out and about.
I got stuck up a tree aged 7 when a nail from an old tree house snagged through my trousers leaving me dangling by my knicker elastic – put me off tree climbing 😉
Well done to your hubby I now leave this to my kids!
I love the husband up a tree picture. I can’t believe that was his first time! The first of many perhaps. I still climb our trees. I must check out geocaching too – it sounds fun.
