A day at The Frome Independent

We spent the morning at The Frome Independent, otherwise known at the Frome Artisan and Produce Market. It takes place the first Sunday of every month in Frome town centre and is well worth a visit.

A day at The Frome Independent

Our first stop was the Cheese & Grain where the Totally Craft & Make It Market was taking place. There were some lovely stalls and I completely fell in love with a beautiful stained glass piece of mistletoe. It might seem a little early to be buying something like this but I could easily have bought some items for Christmas gifts!

Then it was on to the Flea Market in The Market Yard. This is my favourite part of the market, packed full of retro and vintage stalls from homewares, fashion, furniture, collectibles, books, vinyl, toys, fabrics and curiosities. I loved walking around, there were some wonderful pieces of furniture although no bookcases, which is what I really wanted to buy.

vintage rubbish binI liked this vintage bin but my husband didn’t agree

After we had browsed the Flea Market we walked to the high street where there were lots of food stalls and beautiful handmade items. The children were beginning to get fed up of the crowds so we didn’t venture up Catherine Hill where the Suitcase Sale was taking place. Fingers crossed we’ll make it up there one day – preferably without the children so I can do lots more shopping.
