The children have been spending a lot of time in their garden playhouse this summer. We have been helping them make the space their own and personalising it with their favourite posters and beanbags. Today we made our own Swallows and Amazons inspired bunting to decorate the playhouse. Swallows and Amazons inspired bunting We used: A4 white card, Sizzix machine and bunting die, scalpel, cutting mat, contact paper and cellophane sheets. First I cut bunting flags using my Sizzix machine and the Bunting die to create 6 flags. Then I drew a swallow on half of the flags and a…

A few weeks ago we got our FIMO collection out for some after school crafting. We wanted to have a go at making our own FIMO winners’ medals – fun for both Sports Day and Olympic crafting. The kids love FIMO Kids as you can use it straight out of the packet, there’s no need to knead it in your hands before you use it. My children are both impatient but also lack those fine motor skills so this is a great product for them. How to make a FIMO winners’ medal We picked our colours and rolled out the…

So far this year we’ve had Euro 2016, Wimbledon and the Tour de France 2016 and we’ve still got many more to come. Did you know that athletes in ancient games didn’t receive medals like they do today? Instead they received a wreath crown made of olive tree leaves, or later from the leaves of a bay laurel. I thought we should try and make our own paper version so today we’re sharing our paper plate laurel wreath craft for kids. Paper plate…

The only problem I have with things from Ikea, is that everyone has them, so I love to add a personal touch. As an Orla Kiely fan I knew they would look amazing covered with my favourite stem paper, so that’s what I did! image from Ikea I love quick and easy DIY projects but I have to admit – this isn’t one of them. Very early this morning I opened our cabin curtains to see we had docked back at Southampton. After a few days away on Ventura I was pretty glad to be back on firm ground. Just a few days before I had whipped up some colourful Duck Tape passport covers for the family. Duck Tape passport cover tutorial I love crafting with Duck Tape and have a pretty good selection of prints and patterns. This is a bit of a stash buster craft which I was shamed into doing when my 6 year old counted how many rolls of Duck Tape…
