As we’ll soon be going on holiday I wanted to craft some colourful tags to make our suitcases easily identifiable. A few years ago we made some colourful Duck Tape passport covers so I couldn’t wait to craft with Duck Tape again. Duck Tape is a great craft material as it’s so durable and perfect to make tags to help identify our luggage. To make our DIY Duck Tape ice lolly tags I used: Patterned Duck Tape scissors card craft sticks hole punch DIY Duck Tape ice lolly tags First I cut my card to 100cm x 60cm. I placed…

Over the last few weeks we’ve been experiencing a mini-heatwave in the UK which is quite nice. Records have been smashed several times and we’re all enjoying being outside after school. The children have re-discovered their playhouse and I love watching them discover forgotten toys which have been buried inside it. This week they’ve been den building in the garden, this can be a really low-cost activity which keeps them busy over and over again during the summer holidays. I’ve really enjoyed sharing my ideas for a low cost Summer which include how to make a Summer smash book, trying out painting…

We’re huge fans of painting and hiding rocks. Over the Bank Holiday weekend we hid a lot of painted rocks. Both my children have been decorating a lot so recently I varnished everything so we could take them out with us whilst we were away. I think that painted rocks make a great low-cost activity that will keep any child busy over the holidays. What equipment do you need to decorate painted rocks? Making and decorating painted rocks is relatively low-cost but you will need to invest in a few thing. We buy bags of smooth rocks from the garden centre.…

If you’re in the UK then you’ve probably been experiencing some crazy hot weather this week. The bad news is it’s not going to last, but it’s given us a taste of what’s to come. The whole family has enjoyed spending time outside. The garden is looking great and we’ve eaten outdoors a lot. I love that the children have come home from school and gone straight outside to play. The perfect outdoor activity for kids – playing with bubbles They love to play with bubbles and always have. Blowing and playing with bubbles is a great, low cost activity,…

My children were both happy to go back to school today. Yesterday there were a few nerves but today they were both happy and relaxed, and there were no tears from me either! Although they are back at school I’m hoping we’ll have a warm September. I’m not quite ready to pack away all our Summer clothes. Over the summer I made quite a few iced teas. I find them lovely and refreshing and my children do too. They make a great alternative to fizzy drinks and you can make a batch and keep it in the fridge to last…

The weather has been pretty poor over the school holidays but we’ve had a ew nice days here and there. With the weather forecasting good weather we had a go at making some ice lollies in some little moulds I bought at Flying Tiger. The recipe was simple but it was something the kids could do and enjoy. You can make any kind of homemade lollies but I wanted them to be eye catching so used cute little gummy bears! Equipment to make Gummy Bear Coconut Water Ice Lollies Coconut water Gummy bears Lolly moulds from Flying Tiger How to…

Our summer countdown has begun. The children have three days left at school and then we have 6 weeks without clubs, organised activities or the school run! No homework! No running the children from one thing to the next. Today I’m sharing my Summer beauty trends for 2017. I’m not kidding myself that 6 weeks will be easy but I can’t wait for a break from the normal routine. As much as we all thrive on routine it’s also nice to have a break. The summer holidays actually give me a much-needed chance to shake up my beauty regime. Being a…

It looks like we’re having another mini heatwave in the UK at the moment. Like most Brits I admit to being obsessed with the weather. I love Spring and Autumn, find Winter a little depressing and really dislike Summer. I just can’t stand the heat and sunshine. My skin just reacts in the worst way and I find it so much easier to stay indoors than have to worry about hats, suncream and keeping cool. I find it harder to make sure my children are being sensible too. The morning school run seems to become a blur of water bottles,…
