    July Japan Candy Box unboxing

Last week a new subscription box popped through my door – the Japan Candy Box. Japan Candy Box is the sweetest monthly Japanese candy subscription service and we were excited to try it out. This is what our box looked like, packed full of 10 colourful candy and sweet treats to try! It goes without saying that my children love candy too so we tried all the sweets together. Here are our thoughts: The Glico Collon Biscuit Rolls have a funny sounding name and were our least favourite snack. They are like little crispy rolls, perhaps filled with green tea? The Horadekita…

    Monday happy things

It’s time for my favourite post of the week, my Monday happy things. We spent the last week at my mum’s which was lovely. The weather was great and we spent every day out exploring the beautiful countryside. We visited Salisbury and had fun looking for the Barons’ Charter sculptures. The Barons’ Charter includes 25 life-sized decorated medieval baron sculptures displayed as an art trail across the city. The trail is open until 6th September and well worth a visit. They will then be auctioned to raise money for The Trussell Trust, the UK’s leading poverty charity. Our favourite sculpture…

July Lucky Dip Club subscription box

I’ve developed a serious addiction to subscription boxes recently. I love anything cute, kawaii or which introduces me to new designers and makers. I’ve been following the Lucky Dip Club box for a while and decided to treat myself to the July box. The subscription rates seem pretty reasonable and I’m *just* about coping with the school holidays. Anyway, my Lucky Dip Club box arrived and I kept it unopened for a few days. I was waiting for a few minutes to myself but I’d forgotten that time is even more precious when your routine goes out of the window…

    Monday happy things

I’m a little late with my weekly Monday happy things post as we’ve spent the last 24 hours at a very special overnight stay at Whipsnade Zoo to celebrate Frubes’ partnership with the Minions movie. We had an amazing adventure, sleeping in our own private lodge next to the white rhinos. I’ll be writing a post on our experience later this week. I took my new Hammamas towel with me which doubled as a lightweight scarf when the temperature dipped in the evening. Hammamas have a beautiful range of turkish cotton towels, perfect for taking on holiday as a beach…

    July Super Cute Box unboxing

This week I received a super cute box of kawaii loveliness. You all know how much I love my kawaii goodies so I was super excited to receive the July Super Cute Box. Quite simply the Super Cute Box is a monthly subscription box filled with cuteness from all around the world! The ethos behind Super Cute Box is twofold: to source cute items from all over the world including kitsch, vintage, quirky, kawaii, retro etc.; and to include at least one item every month  from a small business or independent designer. This is a great way to encourage individuals…

    Kawaii Box review and giveaway

I love subscription boxes and if they are full of a carefully selected mix of Japanese and Korean kawaii products even better. Last week the June Kawaii Box landed on my doorstep and I waited until my children were occupied at school before I opened it. It arrived beautifully packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. I peeled the layer of tissue paper to see what was waiting for me. Inside were 12 fun kawaii items including stationery, bag charms, candy and nail art. My favourite without a doubt was the smiling poop sharpener. However my children took this away from me…

    June Stocking Box reveal

I adore receiving snail mail, not the brown envelope kind, but the little box of monthly loveliness otherwise known as subscription boxes. Last week I received the June Stocking Box which I have been looking forward to sharing with you. The idea behind Stocking Box is a subscription box full of handmade goodies – a Christmas stocking every month! The June box contained all the goodies below wrapped in tissue paper so it was really exciting to look through. There was also a little booklet with information about each artist. I think my favourite item was the gorgeous Garden Birds…

Chinese New Year Paper Plate drum and Weekend Box review

I can’t believe it’s been a year since I reviewed a Weekend Box. Andy, the guy behind the brilliant Weekend Box got in touch to ask if we wanted to review another one.  In case you need reminding, a Weekend Box is a fun-filled activity box subscription for little ones aged 3-6, delivered right to your door (and they fit through your letter box too!). I also have a free Weekend Box code at the bottom of this post if you want to try this for yourself. We received a Chinese New Year themed box. My 4 year old loved…
