I was busy sewing, sewing, sewing…. I’ve taken part in a few handmade decoration swaps lately and made these lovely little birds for a garland from my favourite felt sewing book Fa la la la Felt. My partner asked for something red so I hope she likes it. We also managed a shopping trip for some more Christmas presents (see, I told you I was addicted to buying!). Edward now has some new socks, Christmas bibs and adorable suede booties.

My personal countdown to Christmas has begun! I always get a bit stressed about buying Christmas presents: there’s the expense, the actual shopping, worrying whether people will like what I’ve bought, and the logistics of getting to exchange gifts with family as well as retaining my sanity! Today we had a rare trip into the West End. We took the little one on his first trip to the British Museum followed by his first trips to Cath Kidston and Orla Kiely – my two favourite shops! I have a real passion for Orla Kiely. I drink out of Orla Kiely mugs, I sleep amongst Orla Kiely sheets, I use Orla Kiely handbags, and travel with my Orla Kiely suitcase, wash bag and make up bags! There’s only been one occasion when I rocked up at a hotel and realised I had a number of clashing Orla Kiely…
