To be honest I hadn’t heard of the Lalaloopsy but when I heard it was perfect for any young girl, especially one interested in craft, fabric, sewing and friendship, I leaped at the chance to review it with my family. If you haven’t heard of them before, Lalaloopsy are magical ragdolls who come to life when their last stitch is sewn. Each doll has their own individual personality created by the fabrics used to make them. They live in a colourful, whimsical world full of fun and surprises. Sew magical. Sew cute. We really enjoyed watching Adventures in Lalaloopsy Land:…

Like many mothers I would love to clothe my children in organic clothes. Both suffer from eczema so we are really careful about the clothes we buy, the washing powder we use and cleaning products used around the house. I was offered some baby sleepwear from organic baby and bedding company The Little Green Sheep to try with Little Sis. Apparently their babygros are all organic and even the poppers are nickel free so I was happy to. We were sent one of their lovely organic sleeping bags, which contain no nasties and are made from certified organic cotton. We…

I was reading the latest issue of Mother & Baby and there was an intriguing article about Elimination Communication. Basically it means not using nappies and just knowing when your child needs the toilet. Despite being a stay at home mum I just can’t imagine having the time to do this on top of everything else. Sorry but I love nappies – reuseable and disposable – I’m happy to use both on my children, but they will wear nappies until they’re potty trained! We were sent the latest bumGenius freetime to review. You may remember some time go we tried…

Do you have a trendy toddler? I don’t. He seems happiest when he’s wearing head to toe Thomas the Tank Engine clothing which is why I was delighted to hear about Nippaz With Attitude. This is an online clothing store selling cool unique baby clothing, music and gifts for funky street cred kids and babies. Nippaz With Attitude review Big Brother refused to wear the skinny jeans I bought him so daddy chose a tshirt for him, hoping that he would wear something chosen by him for a change. He picked this radical red thsirt, printed with the words Fight…

According to research by Johnson’s, 70% of mums with children aged 0-3 months experience stretch marks (vs. 44% of the general population) and 53% of mums are concerned about their stretch marks. I can hold my hand up and say I have stretch marks, two pregnancies in two years didn’t give my poor skin much time to recover. I was very happy to try the new Johnson’s Skin Perfecting Oil which has been clinically proven to improve skin suppleness, helping to reduce the appearance of stretch marks in just 4 weeks. Unfortunately you can’t totally get rid of stretch marks…

Vertbaudet kindly offered to send me some clothes for Little Sis to review. I didn’t need to be asked twice as I love dressing her up, boys clothes are so boring and practical! They sent us two outfits, perfect for the beautiful spring weather from their Spring/Summer collection. Both outfits were in pure breathable cotton which have washed and dried really well. Little Sis hates getting dressed so the press stud fastenings on the back are a really handy feature enabling quick dressing without any fuss. The sizing is also very generous which is good as LS is already quite…

This year I’ll be celebrating my second Mother’s Day with my little family. I’m totally immersed in my little bubble of motherhood and enjoy every second, well, most of the time. My toddler has always made lots of noise but the one word I really wanted to hear was “mummy”. His first word was “daddy”, quickly followed by “nanny” and more and more words, none of which were “mummy”. Of course, when he did finally get round to saying it he didn’t stop! He often calls out “mummy”, especially when I’m not in the room, and will laugh when I…

I’m a proud Londoner and have lived all over the place since moving to London in 2001. I’ve lived south and north and even east! I’ve been lucky to live with friends, friends of friends and strangers who have become friends. My accommodation has ranged from damp basement flats in Tufnell Park, to roomy flats above an off licence in West Dulwich, a respectable house in Tooting, a tiny flat in Whitechapel, a room in a house in Clapham Common and our first home in Dartmouth Park. Rent has always taken a huge portion of my wages and I found…

I know I have a typical toddler. At 23 months he has a huge vocabulary and is starting to string words together. He understands most things I say but he gets frustrated easily when he can’t show or tell me what he wants. I’m really cross (with myself) that we stopped going to baby signing classes as it was fun and helped us communicate but Big Brother was bored in the classes and I, wrongly, assumed he would be talking soon. Roll on 6 months and his speech is coming along, but slowly. I wondered what else I could be…
