Today Edward is 10 months old! Pregnancy, birth and his first months are passing in a whirlwind. I always meant to write more about his birth last March before I forget. I had a straightforward pregnancy apart from the usual worries over test results and swollen ankles. I was tired during the first trimester, felt full of life during the second trimester and tired again during the third trimester. I’m a hoarder and I’m not afraid to admit it! This is why my job as a curator is perfect as it allows me to collect, catalogue and keep for ever! I’ve just collected my 6 month sample pack from Bounty. I love a freebie and that didn’t change during my pregnancy when I signed up to every mother and baby club I could find. I’ve benefited from lots of samples which have helped me choose the best products for my little boy. I’m brand aware but I wouldn’t say I got sucked in by all the marketing that gets thrown at pregnant women. Look at this beauty! A changing bag from my favourite handbag designer Orla Kiely. I saw it in John Lewis a couple of weeks ago and promised myself I would treat myself to it. I was lucky enough to receive some new craft books for Christmas. Added to my extensive ‘craft’ shelf I now have a copy of Sew by Cath Kidston and Making Chidren’s Clothes by Emma Hardy. I also got a copy of the Sewing 2010 day to day calendar which will hopefully inspire me to use – and not just look at – my lovely sewing basket more often this year. However, only 10 weeks to go until my due date so I’d better make a start on the cot quilt soon!
