I recently won a fabulous Orla Kiely lampshade from The Old Lamp Shed. I was able to pick the design I wanted and went for cars – perfect for Edward’s room. When we were expecting we painted the nursery a neutral colour but now Edward’s coming up to his first birthday we’re trying to give the room a more boyish feel. Today is the culmination of operation back to work. This afternoon I have a meeting with my manager to discuss my proposal for flexible working and I’m scared! A few weeks ago I prepared a document detailing how I could squeeze my full-time job into a three day week. Last week I had a cheeky trip to the West End. I say cheeky because since Edward came along I get little time to myself. Given a couple of hours I decided to go shopping even though I needed to catch up on some sleep and the house needed a clean. One of my wishes for 2011 is to learn to drive and I have found the ultimate carrot on a stick: Yes, your eyes do not deceive you, this Citroen DS3 has been designed with a bit of help from Orla Kiely. It’s an eco-friendly car, with just 500 being produced and it’s due to be launched in February 2011.
