    In honour of mothers

I’m looking forward to celebrating (is that the right word?) my first Mothers’ Day on Sunday. In honour of the day I thought I’d post a pic of me with my mum. I think the photograph was taken on the day of my Christening in 1977/78.  I still have the little outfit I’m wearing but I’m glad I haven’t seen the hideous coat and hat my mum is wearing in a long time. I would love to have Edward christened at the church we got married in some day. I think we’ve left it a little late as I could…

    Not quite a water birth

Today Edward is 10 months old! Pregnancy, birth and his first months are passing in a whirlwind. I always meant to write more about his birth last March before I forget. London Zoo kindly provided afternoon tea which was followed by a reading from Winnie the Pooh. Edward was very well behaved and was rewarded with a set of the new Winnie the…

A tourist in our own city

Today we met my cousin and her family as she hadn’t yet met Edward. We had lunch in the cafe at the Mamas and Papas on Regent Street. The food is delicious, the location is perfect and it’s never too busy as not many people seem to know about it. Edward got lots of kisses and couples from his adoring great aunt and cousins, and pressies too, so he was very excited. After lunch we went for a walk around central London. Although we often pop into the West End we never seem to have time to relax and be…
