We’ve been fortunate that our couple of days away coincided with blue skies and sunshine. At long last we were able to spend time outside and all feel much better for it. In the run up to Easter we did lots of Easter crafting. We made and decorated bunny biscuits, boiled eggs and tried out our new egg wraps, and also melted chocolate to make yummy chocolate lollies and eggs! Yesterday we treated ourselves to a delicious lunch at the Three Daggers in Edington and a walk around Edington Priory which was resplendent with flowers. We also did a lot…

I don’t know about you but I’ll be really glad to see the back of this month. It’s been busy, we’ve had the uncertainty of our house sale going through and we’ve all been constantly ill. We’re going away for a few days over Easter, and taking our germs with us, but we’re more than happy to stay indoors until we’re feeling better (and the weather warms up!). Thanks to Nick Jnr. there’s plenty to keep my two busy with some fabulous Easter programming and a whole host of activities online to help keep them entertained over the long weekend.…

Following the theme of hand print fun, last week we got messy with the paints to create some Easter cards. Hand print animals are really easy to do and require few materials. We added a good dollop of yellow paint onto the paint tray and the toddler sponged it onto one hand before carefully pressing his hand down on to a sheet of paper. We left the hand prints to dry over night and then I added some legs, eyes and a beak with sharpies. As we wanted to make these into cards we then glued them onto blank cards…

March has been a pretty hard month for us as we’ve all been ill and I’m fed up of playing nurse! I don’t care that it’s snowing again as I’ve been thinking about fun Easter breaks with the family so we have something to look forward to. There’s so much choice and lots of places we want to visit. Whilst the children are young we’ll be staying in the UK. I know lots of people take their children abroad but I don’t think you can beat UK breaks at Butlins. When I was growing up we always had a couple…

If you ever ask the toddler what he wants to do he’ll answer painting. He absolutely loves sticking paper to the table, choosing a pot of paint and being creative. Hand print and thumb print animals are his current obsession so what better than hand print Easter bunnies for Easter gifts? You will need: paper, paint, black and red marker pen First of all stick your paper to the table, we use washi tape, to ensure the corners stay down. Choose which hand you want to use and sponge paint over the palm and fingers. Carefully press down the palm…

We’re looking forward to a big family Easter this year. Looking back at this photo, which was only taken a year ago, Edward looks so small. Now he’s a toddler stomping around, keeping me on my toes all day long. Every year my mum puts on an Easter egg hunt for her children and grandchildren. Last year I helped Edward put the chocolate eggs in his basket and Daddy ate them. I expect this year I’ll be running around after him making sure he doesn’t pick up his cousins’ eggs. I’m hoping Daddy will eat the eggs too as, after…
