We spent the morning at The Frome Independent, otherwise known at the Frome Artisan and Produce Market. It takes place the first Sunday of every month in Frome town centre and is well worth a visit. A day at The Frome Independent Our first stop was the Cheese & Grain where the Totally Craft & Make It Market was taking place. There were some lovely stalls and I completely fell in love with a beautiful stained glass piece of mistletoe. It might seem a little early to be buying something like this but I could easily have bought some items…

This week we were fortunate to be invited to spend the day at Thomas Land at Drayton Manor to see the latest Thomas & Friends film – Tale of The Brave. My children loved our day at Thomas Land. When we arrived at the cinema we were greeted by The Fat Controller and were able to play with some of the latest Thomas & Friends toys before sitting down to watch the film. Tracks are trembling on the Island of Sodor as Thomas & Friends embark on their boldest adventure yet! Available from Monday 1st September, Tale of the Brave…

The start of the school term is feeling very real at the moment. I’m panic buying school uniform, have stuck up the pictures of Reception we were given and have bought my 4 year old a Planes 2 Fire and Rescue lunchbox so I can bribe him to help him get through the first few days. He’s a good eater so I’m hoping to pack it full of tasty treats. One thing he’ll definitely be taking are Yollies. We were sent some samples to try and he really loved them. Yollies are a fruity yogurt on a stick, packaged in…

Week 5 has gone past in a bit of a flash, we’ve enjoyed entertaining the family but unfortunately been ill too. An extra pair of hands with the children meant I was able to go to Camden for the DryNites Mums crafting event with Tamara Melvin and parenting expert Emma Kenny which was fab. I still need to put my upcycled lamp together and share it with you. My husband and I had a rare date night at our local Miller & Carter restaurant. I’ve been spending loads of time making things with the children which we love doing. It’s…

This week I was invited to a really fun crafting event with former Great British Sewing Bee finalist Tamara Melvin. She has been working with DryNites to create a series of craft projects to bring some grown-up touches to kids’ bedrooms. She is aiming to help parents through the bedwetting stage of their child’s development by highlighting the importance of age-appropriate influences at night time. Created on behalf of DryNites, and with support from child psychologist Emma Kenny, Tamara wants to provide a fun way to normalise this phase, which affects almost 600,000 children every year. We met at Tea…

The Summer holidays are rattling by and it’s time for Week 4 of our Summer holiday round up. Last week Big Brother and I ventured into London to walk the Riverside Book Bench trail. We spent a lovely morning finding the decorated sculptures, painted to celebrate London’s literary heritage and reading for enjoyment. You can find pictures of all the benches we found on my other blog. We enjoyed a family day out at Odds Park Farm as well as another trip to London for the launch of a new augmented reality game at the British Museum. Big Brother and…

This time of year (distinctly Autumnal!) makes me think of the Knitting and Stitching Show at Ally Pally. I’ve been every year since 2007 and I started blogging about my purchases from the Show. As there are just so many lovely to things to buy I have to be strict with myself so I blog my purchases and what I make to justify my purchases. In 2010 I bought a Clothkits doll cushion, Advent calendar printed panel, gingerbread man cross stitch and Union flag quilt pattern. I made everything except the Union flag quilt as I couldn’t find the jelly…

The Summer holidays are flying by and I’m quite enjoying writing about our adventures. Over the last week we have been on holiday and had a few busy days in London. Here’s what we’ve been up to: We visited a beautiful National Trust property called Stoke-sub-Hamdon Priory situated between Yeovil and Ilminster. Despite being National Trust members we rarely visit any properties so it was lovely to make a brief visit and explore the site. We also re-visited Nunney Castle as Little Sis demanded to go to a castle. Whilst we were away we spent lots of time outdoors. We…

A couple of weeks ago we were invited to the recently opened Ham Yard Hotel in Soho for a fun family morning with NOW TV as they celebrated Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. joining NOW TV in time for summer. The children enjoyed some really fun activities, including colouring, face painting, eating delicious cakes and of course, watching NOW TV. My little pre-schoolers adore Nick Jr so I was excited to learn more about NOW TV. Basically NOW TV is a media streaming service which doesn’t require a contract. All you need is an HDMI-equipped TV, an internet connection and the…
