    Miffy bento lunch

Little Sis loves Miffy so I made a Miffy-inspired bento lunchbox for her today. We spent the day in Oxfordshire as my husband was on a Supercar driving experience. After my children had enjoyed watching him whizzing around the track they were happy to tuck into a fun lunch. Miffy bento lunch: Miffy fairy bread Carrot flowers Molded Miffy egg Mini sausages Egg filled with blueberries Cucumber sticks Babybel Miffy biscuits How to make a Miffy bento lunch: First of all I made special Miffy fairy bread by cutting out a Miffy shape from one piece of bread, making a…

    Monday happy things

My list of things making me happy is quite shallow this week – – Last week I went to the Hobbycraft press show (on my own!). It’s not often that the children are both looked after and I’m invited to something I want to go to but it all worked out for once. I picked up some lovely samples from their new Easter range so I’m sure there will be a little giveaway of those soon. – On the way home from the Hobbycraft show I just about managed to squeeze in a visit to my favourite Cath Kidston store…

    The Necropolis Railway

Last weekend we had a really lovely day out. The sun was shining and we had a day with nothing urgent to do so we headed out to tick off some places from our never-ending list of places we want to visit. I’ve mentioned before about the Magnificent Seven, the name given to the 7 cemeteries established on the outskirts of London during the Victorian period. Back in 2008 I wrote that we wanted to visit all seven that year. Well we failed miserably! Sometimes my blog is a useful aid for recording and sometimes not so useful. In 2007…

    Monday happy things

Yesterday I spotted my first snowdrops of the year whilst we were out visiting the Watts Gallery in Sussex. I love snowdrops and it always makes me happy to see them poking out of the frozen ground. I seemed to have reached some social milestones this week. Yep, I’m celebrating 5 years on Foursquare and a whopping 8 years on Twitter. I reached over 100000 followers on Pinterest too. I’m not sure how I feel about this, in fact I’m trying not to think about it too much! It may seem from reading my blog that all I’m doing at…

    Monday happy things

Another Monday and today is definitely the last day of our Christmas holiday. My husband is already back at work and I am (mentally at least) prepared for the nursery/school run/station drop off first thing tomorrow morning. We had a small splurge in the Lego shop and bought two new sets. We’ve already built and played with the new Lego Frozen set – Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle. The children love it and I enjoyed building it! We also treated ourselves to the new Lego Ideas Bird set which has just been released. I really can’t wait to build them but…

Top 12 Things to see at Christmas

Are you looking forward to a relaxing Christmas holiday or is your calendar full of parties and days out? Although we’re entertaining at home we’re hoping for a couple of trips out. Top of our list is Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. We haven’t been since 2011 when my son was little so it would be great to go back and re-visit. I also really want to take the children ice-skating! I love this Top 12 Things To See At Christmas infographic. Each listing shows a fun family day out that is a must see this Christmas! Just click on…

Christmas crafting at Tea & Crafting

On Saturday I got the chance to spend a rare day with my son. We had been invited by DryNites to spend the day at London craft workshop Tea & Crafting and have some fun crafting time together. My 4 year old loves to craft so I knew he would enjoy this. He loved every second! Christmas crafting at Tea & Crafting You may remember I had previously spent a crafty morning with the DryNites team and Tamara Melvin earlier this year. If you recognise the name, she was the finalist in the Great British Sewing Bee. She had two…

    Monday happy things

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! Time really is running away from me at the moment. We had one of those ‘quiet’ weekends at home which actually meant we barely sat down til 10 o’clock last night. The children have gone crazy about Christmas and we’re *just* about coping with their excitable behaviour. There have been lots of happy moments this week. My favourite was definitely the day I spent crafting with my 4 year old at Tea & Crafting in Camden. We made a Christmas tree sun catcher and a personalised stocking which I will be telling…
