It’s that time of the month when I need to sit down and see how my Day Zero progress is going. It’s been a really busy but productive month. 14. Complete a 365 day photo challenge Our baby blog has now been updated for 14 months. It was originally started by my husband to record Edward’s first days and I wondered how we would have time to keep up with it! When my husband was hospitalised I used it as a way of making sure he didn’t miss out on how Edward was growing and I’ve managed to post every…

Time for a quick Day Zero update before another month passes me by: 4. Get through my baby’s teething in one piece! The last few days have been terrible as Edward has not one but three teeth coming through at the top. The pain is excruciating for him and we’re finding it really difficult to comfort him. We’re all having sleepless nights and a lot of grumpyness. Edward is so good natured and happy that it is awful watching him suffer. Teething sucks! 5. Read one book every month Since becoming a mum I’ve been more of a magazine…

It’s time to write an update on my Day Zero progress. 7. Decide whether to return to work or not Well first I decided to return, then I changed my mind. You can read the whole sorry story. 38. Do at least one geocache a month We’ve been having loads of fun out and about now the weather is getting warmer. We found a couple in Bruges as well as London and Essex. 59. Successfully grow herbs We’re also spending more time in the garden and the herbs I planted last year are well established and living!…

It’s been a while since I posted an update on my Day Zero progress as Christmas and New Year took over normal service. However I’ve managed to tick off a few more goals: The big decision was made about returning to work and we found a great little nursery for Edward I bought a new Orla Kiely handbag (a treat for the decision above) We’ve been watching a new film every month, mainly cheesy flicks but also An Education which I really enjoyed I’ve been busy cooking and this month I tried a new recipe – stovies I booked driving…

I’ve been visited by the Appliances Online fairy! You may have seen the blog love that has recently been spreading. It started with a new washing machine for Single Parent Dad, then on to Rosie Scribble who gained a new television, next up was Typecast who received a rather large jar of sweets. Last week it was my turn when I opened a lovely email asking if they could send me something. To be honest I hadn’t heard of Appliances Online until they started sharing the love and I saw their name cropping up in my google reader. Apparently they…

It’s been 6 weeks since I started my Day Zero list and I’ve made good progress. I’ve found having a list of things I want to achieve helps me focus. Sewing/craft projects So far I have made Edward a beanbag, finished covering our nursing chair, made my sister a draught excluder, made Edward a Clothkits cushion and finished a felt gingerbread house. I’ve taken part in at least one swap a month (via the Secret Post Swap and Swapbot) and made vintage tags for swaps and parcels. Cooking/baking I’ve made a couple of soups from scratch, made meringues, baked a…
