I can’t believe it’s time for my last crafty post as part of the Project: recycle & create. I’ve really enjoyed the monthly challenge organised by Teach Me Mommy. This month we are all about the polystyrene. We don’t seem to get too much polystyrene packing but we do have plenty of the round balls which I’m using today. Since living in Scotland for 5 years I’ve been a big fans of Tunnocks, I was even a member of the Tunnocks’ Caramel Wafer Appreciation Society, so today I’m sharing my tutorial for super easyĀ Tunnocks baubles. This is a lovely craft…

I am a member of the Baker Ross Blogger Network and received this product to review Despite welcoming an Elf to visit every December we have never embraced elf crafts. Not this year! We’ve already made some really fun fingerprint elf art which is probably one of my favourite ever Christmas crafts. This week we received a bumper box of Christmas goodies from Baker Ross which included a really fun Elf Mix & Match Decoration Kit. Yesterday my 6 year old had a friend over to play after school, so whilst they were busy playing Minecraft, my 4 year old…

This is a commissioned post in collaboration with White Stuff. Recently I’ve been working on a really fun collaboration with White Stuff as part of their #SewThisIsKnitmas festive fun. They sent me some of their fabulous offcuts and challenged me to make a unique Christmas decoration with it. This was a great excuse to browse Pinterest for some crafting inspiration! Not only do White Stuff make gorgeous clothes but their print and patterns are beautiful too. I love White Stuff and have some key pieces which I just love; the quirkier the pattern the better for me. They sent me…

I’m getting really excited about our Elf coming to stay on the 1st December. I wanted to drop a few hints to my children about his imminent arrival so came up with an Elf on the Shelf craft for them. This is another of those easy after school crafts which is perfect for some downtime around the table. We used: paper green and pink paint black marker pen DIY fingerprint Elf craft for kids It’s been a while since we had fun with paint and our fingers so the children had a few attempts. They experimented with dipping their fingers…

Story stones are a great way to introduce the idea of story telling at home. We always collect smooth beach pebbles when we are at the beach and these are perfect for story stones. My drawing skills are pretty bad so I glue pictures to the stones and they last for ages. Previously we have made Gruffalo Story Stones and our favourite, the Gingerbread Man Story Stones. With Christmas coming up I made Nativity Story Stones, and these are great for telling the story of the Nativity. Equipment to make Nativity story stones Nativity pictures Smooth stones Mod Podge and…

We have a really great craft to share with you today. My children are growing up far too quickly so I thought it was about time to capture a moment in their lives. This was one of those fun crafts which we squeezed in after school and also got to use some great chalk pens from Chalkola. Equipment to make time capsule baubles for kids Clear plastic baubles Chalkola Chalk Pens Paper and pen How to make time capsule baubles for kids First of all I asked my children 10 quick questions. The idea was to find out a little…

Last year I really wanted a way to display our Book Advent. A pile of 24 books takes up quite a lot of room but I wanted them to be accessible and not look out of place amongst the Christmas decorations. In previous years I’ve experimented with wrapping them up. One year they were covered in simple brown paper and string, this year they are wrapped in festive red and white paper. You can add numbers to each packet or let your children have a lucky dip every day. Anyway, we had a wooden crate made with plywood which I…

Have you started your Christmas crafting yet? I’ve been planning some projects for a while and find November is the perfect month to start sewing. Overdale Fabrics recently got in touch and asked if I would like to try some of their Christmas range. They sell some lovely festive Fat Quarter bundles, so of course I said yes please! I’ve always enjoyed the Scandi influence. I have no idea why the colours red and white are known as Scandi but they go so well together, especially at this time of year. We honeymooned across Denmark, Sweden and Norway so we’re…

This year we’ve been working with Bostik who make some great craft products such as the Fine and Wide Glu Pen, White Glu, Glu DotsĀ andĀ Glu & Fix Fabric Glu. We’ve received a few packs of the Glitter Pens but I’ve always hidden them away as I was worried about the mess! This months theme was Christmas so I thought it was about time we tried out the Glitter Pens which made my children very happy. We’re all about gingerbread about the money so used them to decorate a paper plate gingerbread man. This is how we did it. Paper plate…
