When I was pregnant I naively thought that I’d have one pram which would see us from birth to the toddler years. At 10 months Little Man has three pushchairs: Bugaboo Cameleon, Quinny Zapp Xtra and a Maclaren Quest Sport.
Looking back through some old pictures I realised that I must have inherited this pram lust from my mother. In my first year I’m photographed in a Silver Cross, a Maclaren and another pram (name long forgotten).
I love this photograph of me in my Maclaren in 1977. Apparently my mum bought it from Mothercare for £9.99 in 1973 when my sister was born. My sister used it and then I did until one day it collapsed and was thrown away. Prams didn’t recline in those days, instead my mum just reclined the whole thing! Fetching sunshade too don’t you think?!

February 11, 2011 at 9:40 pmGreat shot of you in the pushchair. I have to tell you though that I have just hit double figures for pushchair ownership…..I imagine my hunt for the illusive perfect pushchair will end when the Girls both walk rather than when i find The Pushchair….

March 27, 2011 at 8:59 pmI’m so with you on this! I researched like mad and swore I would only need one pushchair… I got a Bugaboo Cameleon, followed by a Petite Star (for holidays) and then a jogging pushchair (Nipper Sport). Three totally worthwhile, absolutely essential purchases 🙂
Cute photo of you in the pushchair too! x

February 13, 2013 at 5:02 pmI’ve got a total of 3 buggies and because I’ve got twins, 2 of them are tandems and one is a double-width Graco Duosport. That’s a total of 6 seats. Does that make me a pram junkie too?!!
And the photo shows a great solution for a non-reclining pushchair… just tip it onto its back like your mum did. Can’t see me getting away with doing that in Sainsburys though!
