Time for the May PinAddicts Pinterest Challenge. The idea is to choose something from your Pinterest boards to create and link up each month. Ages ago I pinned this:
So simple but really effective and a great portrait of a modern family. So I traced round our hands on a piece of paper and then transferred it onto a piece of linen. I chose four different colours of embroidery thread and traced each hand print using running stitch.
I’m not quite sure where I’m going to put it so for now it’s framed in an embroidery frame. This was such a simple piece of work I think I probably spent more time thinking about it than I did actually putting it together!

What a splendid idea, a real heirloom project… I think you are going to have to sew one for each of your children… don’t forget to date it 🙂
A brilliant idea and so in vogue
Oh I started copying that one last year, but it got put away and until I read your post I’d completely forgotten about it. Must finish it, yours looks so nice
Love this idea, hmmm, interest since i have no idea what to give my husband for fathers day. Thank you for the inspiration xx
It may be simple but it’s absolutely gorgeous and a really special keepsake. I love it.
This is so lovely. I am awful at sewing but really think I should give this one a try. Wish me luck!
Thanks for linking up 🙂
Great idea. Must do this for my children and their respective families. Hugs Mrs A.
Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best aren’t they? Beautiful
This is a great idea. It doesn’t matter where you put it now, the important thing is that you have it for the future!
Presentation is all. Glad you’ve got it sorted xx
What a gorgeous idea 🙂 When I was little my brother and I put our hand prints into cement underneath the garage. We will be there for years to come!
It looks great! I am definitely going to try this. x
What a lovely idea – simple but so effective!
That is lovely, really simple but will be a lovely keepsake. You’ll need to keep doing it though as the hands get bigger!
That’s a great idea! I like the idea of embroidering a child’s hand every year 🙂
So simple and yet so effective. I would definitely have a go at this one.

Thanks so much for linking up to #PinAddicts !
This is sooooo lovely! What a brilliant idea.
I have had loads of fun on my sewing machine with my embroidary hoop- making crazy shapes on cool fabric. Pretty random looking but lovely to do, and they frame quite well.
