Felt gingerbread house

Posted on October 16, 2010February 27, 2019 by jenny

I love this little felt gingerbread house I recently made. It’s just a couple of inches high so looks great on our mantle. It’s made from a pattern in the softies kit. It’s a really simple little project that only took me an evening but will look great as a Christmas ornament on our mantlepiece…

Where do all the Bepanthen samples go?

Posted on October 15, 2010July 1, 2025 by jenny

I’ve just collected my 6 month sample pack from Bounty. I love a freebie and that didn’t change during my pregnancy when I signed up to every mother and baby club I could find. I’ve benefited from lots of samples which have helped me choose the best products for my little boy. I’m brand aware…

Being mummy

Posted on October 14, 2010July 28, 2012 by jenny

What is it about being a mummy to an adorable little boy that has turned me into some kind of Nigella? Since having Edward I just want to bake and cook all day long, even though he is still on the puree. Long gone are the days I would nip into M&S for something to…

The Gallery: Favourite Photo

Posted on October 13, 2010February 23, 2013 by jenny

The theme for The Gallery this week is your favourite photograph. I’ve been a total geek since Edward was born and everyday I’ve taken a photo of him. He has his own little blog which I use for updating the extended family on his progress. My iPhoto is creaking with the amount of photos I’ve…

Cocoboat

My personal countdown to Christmas has begun! I always get a bit stressed about buying Christmas presents: there’s the expense, the actual shopping, worrying whether people will like what I’ve bought, and the logistics of getting to exchange gifts with family as well as retaining my sanity! Since having Edward I’m hoping to do a…

Nursing chairs

Posted on October 11, 2010August 15, 2023 by jenny

When I was pregnant the magazines I read were full of expensive nursing chairs. I began to believe that I wouldn’t be truly happy as a mother if I didn’t have an expensive chair and matching footstool to rest my weary body on. Fortunately I found an antique Lloyd Loom nursing chair in need of…

Cocktails and canapes

Posted on October 10, 2010May 2, 2012 by jenny

This week I had a rare night out and I went to my first ‘bloggers’ event: Victorinox Presents Bloggers Delight. I headed to the Victorinox flagship store on New Bond Street to view their new Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. On arrival we were greeted with a delicious choice of drinks and canapes (always a winner in…

Quinny Casters News #5

Posted on October 9, 2010July 8, 2016 by jenny

Today we decided to take the Quinny Zapp Xtra out for a spin in central London. We wanted to go and visit an exhibition at the wonderful Museum of London where I worked a couple of years ago. Here’s my video of my husband unpacking the Quinny Zapp Xtra from the car and putting it…

Teething solutions

Posted on October 8, 2010November 7, 2020 by jenny

Edward has been showing signs of teething for months: dribbling, chewing his fingers and waking during the night where he previously slept through. Some mums at the mother and baby groups I go to mentioned amber teething necklaces. Apparently they are a natural analgesiac and can help with teething pains. They are quite affordable so…
