Last night I packed my hospital bag. I’ve been getting really strange tummy pains and just want to be ready in case anything happens. I know I’ll be having a c-section but what do I need to take into hospital? a new nightdress and dressing gown clothes to go home in maternity towels and pants toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant camera and charged battery phone and charger maternity notes notebook and pen so I can write down everything that happened (I did this last time and it was great to look back on after my morphine haze ended) towel antibacterial wipes plastic…

The only mouse I ever want to see in my house is the new plush Rastamouse from Character Options! This crime fighting Rastafarian rodent and his posse, Da Easy Crew, have become modern day heroes in many a household. Edward was very lucky to be sent the new plush and a Rastamouse DVD which have only just been launched. The plush Rastamouse is great fun – press his tummy and he speaks! He’ll sing and call out phrases in his own unique way. Scratchy and Zoomer are also available. The toy is a firm favourite with Edward who loves to…

We try to recycle as much as we can so always have a full recycling bin. It seems a shame to put it out for the binmen to collect but I’ve never really thought if we could use the material for anything. However with a little bit of inspiration boxes can be turned into cars or dollshouses, played with, and put back in the recycling. How? With the aid of an ingenious little kit from makedo. makedo is a reuseable connector system for creating amazing objects and spaces from recycled materials. We were sent a car kit which contained a…

Edward was invited to the Rainforest Cafe to help celebrate the launch of a new toy range which includes Good Night Friend Upsy Daisy. He’s a huge In The Night Garden fan so I knew this was one event we couldn’t miss. When we arrived at the venue we found a lovely area filled with plush Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle’s to play with. Edward was in his element and happily played until lunch arrived. After lunch Upsy Daisy arrived and Edward, initially shy, was very happy to pose for photos with her. In fact he was having such a…

Pinterest is my newest love and I’ve been busy pinning lots of gingerbread ideas for those quiet moments I have (after my son goes to bed!). I came across a pattern for a lovely gingerbread house which I thought I would make. I amended the pattern slightly and added a couple of spooky touches for Halloween. For the full pattern take a look at craftideas.info This is my Monthly Make for October

We were recently asked to try the Yoomi bottle and warmer in one. Edward is now down to one bottle of milk before bed so we were anxious to try it and see if it would be useful for the Second Baby who arrives in a couple of weeks. Yoomi claims to warm baby’s feed to the natural temperature of breast milk at the touch of a button – in just 60 seconds. Our first impression was that the packaging was bright and cheerful, just what you’d expect from a high end product. The instructions sounded complicated but really weren’t!…

I know we haven’t had Halloween yet but I’ve been itching to show you our wooden Christmas tree. I’ve seen lots of variations of wooden Christmas trees using driftwood so every time we were at the seaside I would scour the beach for suitable pieces. After months of looking and not finding I gave up and decided small branches from the local woods would do just as well! I also found a piece of scaffolding wood outside our house so knew this project was meant to be. How to make a wooden Christmas tree You will need: a selection of…
