We were sent a (very large) box of the new limited edition Colour Me In Rice Krispies and a Bumper Colouring Case with 58 different pens, pencils, glitter glues and markers so the toddler and I could decorate the characters on the Rice Krispies box and personalise breakfast. Quite a long time ago the toddler went off breakfast (spot a theme in our house!?) and for the last year he’s eaten toast and a yoghurt everyday without fail. However, the arrival of the Rice Crispies, or “crisps” as he calls them, has him eating breakfast cereal again! On the day…

We were invited to try out some of the latest products from Hipp Organic over breakfast at Bills in Covent Garden. I’m lucky that my 7 month old loves her food and is happy to try anything – perfect as Hipp Organic have introduced ten new yummy recipes! We’ve already tried out the new savoury pouches but Little Sis got to try the new My First Yoghurt pots in banana and raspberry. These went down very well and I will be stocking up on them! They provide 23% RDA of calcium in 2 pots which give me peace of mind…

I was a bit sceptical when I heard about a new Lego range for girls which was launched in December 2011 with 14 sets. I loved Lego when I was younger (and still do today!) and loved my Lego bricks and Technical Lego too. Extensive research suggested although girls enjoyed playing with Lego they found it difficult to identify with – Lego Friends was born. Each character has a distinct personality and a variety of interests ranging from invention and design to animals and performing arts. Lego Friends is the first LEGO building experience that has been fully tailored to…

Over the last week my happy 7 month old has started refusing her bottles of milk. She’s been happily drinking 240ml bottles three times a day, and also has a dream feed at 11pm. She’s been on 3 meals a day for a couple of months and I’ve been trying to introduce an infant cup for water and juice but she’s just started refusing everything and I don’t know why. It’s starting to make me worried she’ll end up dehydrated. According to the packet of formula a 7 month old should be having 3 feeds of 210ml a day. I…

I’m not planning on staying at home during the Olympics. School’s out for the summer and my toddler will want our normal adventures in London. Without a doubt our adventures will have an Olympic theme. We’ve already seen the Olympic rings at St Pancras and on Saturday we saw the Olympic clock in Trafalgar Square. We’ve also checked out Olympic decorations in other parts of town to make sure the ones in our borough are meant to look quite so lacklustre. We’ve scored some free tickets to see what the Dutch are doing as they take over Ally Pally, temporarily…

I mentioned the other day how I really want to make more things for us to eat, less baking and more savoury would be good! The latest challenge from Foodies100 was perfectly timed, to come up with a new recipe for breakfast time using Almond Breeze almond milk. Breakfast is a tricky meal as the children are starving and I find it stressful ensuring they get something nutritious quickly. No matter how much food I give the toddler he is permanently hungry so I thought I would make a savoury muffin which would be equally great for my husband to…

We’re getting both the children christened at the end of the month. We’ve arranged the service, the god-parents, the gifts, a hotel for us all, and a great big family meal to finish it all off. All that’s left are the clothes. The toddler has a lovely pair of smart trousers and a shirt. His sister has a pretty cream dress, her first pair of shoes, and a cardigan. My husband always looks smart in trousers and a shirt. Which just leaves me. I’ve seen some really pretty summer dresses but it just doesn’t feel right to wear a dress…

I love seeing pictures of bunting on Pinterest. I’ve always wanted to make some but being a bit short of time I thought I would start off with a garland. I made this in several stages over a couple of nights which made it the perfect craft. I cut two different shaped heart templates from paper then cut a load of hearts from my felt stash. Finally I sewed right through the centre of each heart on my trust old Singer until I had a string of colourful felt hearts. It was made for Nicola who was my partner in the…
