I recently wrote an article for Flora who have a great section on their website to help stimulate imaginations and provide new ideas of things to get up to at the weekends. We have easy access to the countryside from where we live and a local farm we love to visit. Why don’t you pop on over to read about our recent day out at the farm. It’s lovely to spark new interests in children and continue the learning at home. Yesterday the children spent the afternoon having fun with a special animal-themed small world play, which I thought I…

Last week was a lot of fun and I cut back on my blogging and felt really creative for a change. I completed a little wall hanging that’s been half finished for months. Years ago I made really small EPP hexagons with no real idea of what I was going to do with them. I decided to stitch them to a piece of linen and hang them on my Quilt Gallery Wall. My new Cath Kidston iPhone 6 Plus case which was a gift for Mother’s Day. The pattern is called Paradise Fields and I love it. image credit A…

She has quite a collection and was recently sent the Peppa Pig Holiday Time Sunshine Villa from Character Online to review. Peppa and George are in the holiday villa! Open up the playset and play with George in the paddling pool! There’s lots…

A couple of weeks ago Hobbycraft sent me some craft supplies which included a really colourful pack of tissue paper in beautiful Spring colours. I’ve been wondering what to make with them and today my daughter decided to create a tissue paper wreath, just like pretty blossom and perfect for Spring. We had fun trying something new, so we thought we’d share the steps with you. You won’t need much equipment – tissue paper, scissors, PVA glue and a paper plate. I cut the centre out of the paper plate, cut the tissue paper into small squares and poured some…

I’m really feeling Spring is on its way lately. The back door has been open letting some much needed fresh air in. We’ve packed our winter coats away and I’m really hoping the sunshine and warmer weather will stick around. The warmer weather means outdoor play! The children love to be outside after school and have been collecting all sorts of things for our Spring nature table. Today I’m joining in with Building Blocks and Acorns’ Outdoor Play Challenge. Every day in March a parent blogger is publishing their idea for a different way of playing outdoors. My 3 year…

Ages ago I bought a bag of vintage Playmobil figures from eBay. They were mainly from the 1970s and I really wanted to craft with them and bring them back to life. You may remember the Playmobil clock and the Playmobil jar toppers I’ve made. I thought it would be fun to see if I could make some badges from a collection of vintage toys and game pieces so collected some badge backs and epoxy glue and a very old tablecloth and got to work. How to make a vintage Playmobil figure badge: Collect your materials. I used an epoxy…

The other day I told you how much my 3 year old loves Doc McStuffins, so much so that she dressed up as Doc McStuffins on World Book Day. Last week Little Sis was pretty lucky to open a package containing the new Doc McStuffins Specialist Dentist Dottie Doll from Flair which she was sent to review. In case you haven’t heard, Dottie ‘Doc’ McStuffins, is a six year old girl who ‘fixes’ toys, with a little help from her stuffed animal friends, Stuffy, Hallie, Lambie and Chilly. My 3 year old loved the look of the new Doc McStuffins…
