First published in 2008, Stick Man is Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s most festive picture book and is now the latest animated film by the Oscar nominated makers of The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child and Room on the Broom films. “Stick Man lives in the family tree With his Stick Lady Love and their Stick Children three.” But it’s dangerous being a Stick Man. A dog wants to play with him, a swan builds her nest with him. He even ends up on a fire! Will he ever get back to the family tree? Perhaps Father Christmas can help… Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s most festive picture book…

Little Sis and I have been going to our local Creation Station for a couple of weeks. She loves to craft and has been enjoying trying something new each week. This week she was experimenting with air drying clay and ended up making a lovely tea light holder which is perfect for celebrating divali. How to make a Divali lamp made with air drying clay First Little Sis was given a lump of air drying clay to play with. She was happy rolling it in her hands and adding a little bit of water to make it wet and malleable.…

I love sharing the crafts I enjoyed as a child with my own children. I’ve seen plenty of scratch art kits around but nothing beats making your own from scratch – sorry, couldn’t resist. You can do this anyway you like. My 5 year old carefully coloured small squares of colour, my 3 year old was less structured and demanded I finish it off for her.…

We’ve been sent a few lovely toys to review lately and the last one I wanted to tell you about today was the Aquabeads Sweets set. Aquabeads are small round coloured balls which stick together with a spray of water. My 3 year old loves them, which surprises me as they are quite small, so she was really pleased to receive the Aquabeads Sweets set to review. These small Aquabeads sets only contain the templates and beads, you will need to own an Aquabeads layout tray and sprayer. The set contains 600 beads in 10 different colours, both jewel and solid beads.…

I recently received an email about Flair’s Xeno Koopies and I couldn’t resist their cute little faces and I knew my children would love them too. We received an orange one to review and we’ve all been having a lot of fun with it, it’s a little like having a new pet. Xeno Koopies are loveable yet cheeky little monsters who interact and play with you! They have glow in the dark eyes and a very tactile feel. They make over 70 different sounds and have 6 touch interactive sensors on their bodies. They are available in three colours –…

You may have thought we were running out of Autumnal crafts as we seem to be crafting a lot but I have a new one to share today. I finally got round to trying leaf printing on air drying clay. Morning everyone, hope you had a great weekend. This week is a 4 day week for us and we can’t wait for the half term holidays. A few things kept me busy last week and my 5 Monday Happy Things are: My new Orla Kiely beakers from John Lewis are making me pretty happy and bringing some cheer to the dull weather. I bought 4 colours – bubblegum, duck egg, lemon and olive. They need to produce a couple more colours so I can have one for every day of the week. Last week we took part in a Doc McStuffins…

We recently received a lovely new Peppa Pig picture book which both my 3 and 5 year old have been enjoying. Much more than a picture book, Peppa Pig: Peppa’s Post is reminiscent of Janet & Allan Ahlberg’s The Jolly Postman. The invitations are sent, rehearsals are complete, but who is the mystery guest coming to see Peppa perform? Promoting communication, dress-up role play, puzzles and friendship, Peppa’s first pantomime experience is just the ticket… (Oh, yes it is!) Six envelopes, all integrated within the book, open up to reveal a fabulous selection of items specially designed to be enjoyed…
