It’s been a while since I picked up a stitching project. I have a few things on the go, but nothing really grabbing my attention at the moment. Dandelion embroidery I’ve had a subscription to Love Embroidery magazine for a few years now. It’s not as good as Mollie Makes magazine, which was my favourite, but it’s still pretty good and inspiring. There have been a few good cover gifts but I haven’t made any of them! I have good intentions but never manage to finish one. One of the latest issues came with a Quick-Stitch dandelion card kit and…

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family. Today is the 500th post and it’s a bit special. Five Happy Things {Week 500} I feel as though I should start by saying we didn’t mange to see the Northern Lights over the weekend. Although they could be seen where we live, we weren’t at home to see…

Today we were tourists for a day in London. We started with Up the O2 (walking up and over the O2) which was fun, then a trip on the IFS Cloud Cable Car over the Thames, before a trip to Canary Wharf to visit the Paws on the Wharf art trail. Paws on the Wharf art trail The Paws on the Wharf art trail has been around since the 25th March but this is the first time we were able to visit. The free art trail has been organised by Guide Dogs and Wild in Art. There are 25 larger-than-life…

House renovations can be an enjoyable task for many, especially if they are looking to accomplish improvements to the home that they are living in. Indeed, renovations can take place for a variety of reasons; some may undertake them to transform where they live into something that better matches their tastes and character; others often do them to add value to their property, with bathroom renovations being a particularly effective way to increase property value. A few weeks ago we went to see the SmileyWorld art trail at Battersea Power Station. Battersea Power Station is a fun destination and we enjoyed grabbing a map and trying to locate the sculptures. SmileyWorld art trail at Battersea Power Station The SmileyWorld art trail is a self-guided trail featuring 15 different sculptures. On one side is a Smiley, the other side features a unique art work. We picked up a trail map from the information desk (but you can also download one to your phone). The sculptures were placed around the outside of Battersea Power Station and inside…

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family. Five Happy Things {Week 499} Last week I finished reading Greenbanks by Dorothy Whipple. This was the third book I have read by her, all published by Persephone Books with their lovely light grey paperback covers. I loved the story of the grandmother Louisa, her relationship with her grown…
