Monster fun at KidZania and the Monster Trucks film preview

This morning we were invited to enjoy some monster fun at KidZania London and attend a film preview of Monster Trucks. We love KidZania and are always happy to spend a few hours there. It was lovely to be there on a Sunday morning as it was really quiet and the children were able to try some of their favourite activities.

KidZania was all decorated for Christmas and they had some lovely special events for the festive season, including the UK’s first Christmas market run by kids for kids! We’ve been to KidZania a few times now and the children have their favourite activities. I was trying to get them to try new things but they were adamant they knew what they wanted to do, so we re-visited the Face painting studio where they both got amazing pictures painted. Little Sis became a cross between a dragon and a dinosaur, Big Brother had a monster truck painted on one side of his face. He then went next door and got a Christmas tattoo at the Tattoo Parlour.

After this my 6 year old went to be an Air conditioning engineer which he always enjoys. They both went on to be Housekeepers at the Hotel and then did the Courier service together. They loved it, only stopping for some of the monster-themed snacks on offer. There were also magicians and balloon artists, and both children received their own balloon model Creech creations – more of that later.

After a few hours at KidZania it was time to go to the special screening of the Monster Trucks film from Paramount Picture UK. Monster Trucks is from the Director of Ice Age. Here’s the trailer in case you haven’t yet seen it:

Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a monster truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town with a most unlikely friend.

We all really enjoyed it, it’s fun and definitely kept the children entertained. My children are 5 and 6 and were so happy to sit and watch it. The film was a little scary at the beginning both by the end they both loved the subterranean creature, Creech, and the film was a big hit with them.  The Monster Trucks film is out in the UK on Boxing Day (December 26th) and I think it will make a great Christmas holidays treat.
