I know I say it every week but last week was busy! Somehow we survived Pancake Day and World Book Day, as well as the normal school routine and after school clubs. Thankfully our weekend was pretty quiet so we all had a chance to recharge our batteries. Time for my weekly post about the 5 things which made me happy the previous week.
Monday happy things {Week 127}
I really love helping at my children’s school and started the week with a trip to our local Church with Year 2. No-one had checked if there would be a service on and there was! The classes were so well behaved and sat through the short service before we could start our visit.
My 6 year old got two new badgers at Beavers. His group leader is amazing and they do lots of badges together but we quite enjoyed doing some work at home too! I bought him a notebook so he could write down what he had done and include some photos. This week he was awarded his Sports badge for football and his Cyclist badge too.
We celebrated our first World Book Day. I don’t think either of my children understood what it was about, to them it was just an excuse to dress up at school! I wrote a post about what they wore here.
I spent Friday at the Spring Knitting & Stitching Show which was brilliant as usual. I wasn’t expecting to buy anything but so many things caught my eye! I came away with a sashiko stitching kit, loads of Liberty scraps and some kits from Janet Clare. I need to stop messing around with my blog and start stitching!
Last night was spent setting up a newsletter for my blog. I decided to use MailChimp but it took ages. I thought it would be a great way of keeping in touch with my readers as I know not everyone follows blogs via a RSS feeder, Twitter or Facebook. It’s still a word in progress but it goes out every Monday. You can sign up via the little widget in the right hand column if you fancy it!
Have a great week everyone!
