We’re a bit late to join in the fun at The Play Academy but I thought I’d post a picture of the fun we had recently with a couple of cardboard boxes. It’s amazing what Edward will play with. Items I think are ordinary can be transformed into new play experiences and take favour over older toys.
Not only can cardboard be chewed it can also be sat in!
Boxes are also great for putting toys in and taking them out again. Even the shredded paper inside a box can be played with.
Thanks to the holiday season there is an abundance of boxes at home at the moment. Edward has even been playing with the cardboard insert from rolls of wrapping paper. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to realise that he can play with all sorts of household items that aren’t toys. Now there’s no holding us back!
