book review - competition - Roald Dahl crafts - Tech!

Win a copy of The Twits and House of Twits review

It’s no secret that we’re huge fans of Roald Dahl. I’ve been reading his books with my 5 year old and working our way through Roald Dahl’s Completely Revolting Recipes book too. So far our favourite has been The Twits, my son loved the tricks they play on each other and we even cooked the Wormy Spaghetti recipe – although I refused his request to include some real worms!

I think my children are lucky to benefit from some amazing apps on the iPhone and iPad. I was so excited to hear about a new app based on The Twits called House of Twits and it has kept my children busy during half term.

Explore the Twits’ house, including the filthy kitchen, Mr Twit’s shed and even the ghastly bathroom. Poke Mrs Twit’s glass eye, feed Mr Twit worms and play tricks to unlock mini games. Beware! Don’t make the Twits too mad or things could get ugly – well, uglier . . .YUCK! PLUS there are loads of secret ways to score Trick Points but you’ll have to find those for yourself . . .

  • Choose to play as Mr Twit or Mrs Twit
  • Discover multiple games in every room!
  • Listen out for Mystery Parcels with extra tricks!
  • Cook a disgusting dinner – spaghetti and worms, anyone?
  • Sprinkle itching powder on the toilet seat!

  1. Mrs Twit got some pigs eye balls for Mr Twits’ dinner that night. She cooked some rice, then she put eye balls in Mr Twit’s dinner, covered them with sauce and cheese over the top so Mr Twit wouldn’t notice. Mrs Twit had meat balls with her rice instead of eye balls.

  2. Mr Twit makes Mrs Twit believe that she is slowly shrinking by gluing pieces of wood no thicker than a penny onto her cane each night

  3. I love the Twits and I can’t believe I’ve not spotted this app before! It looks amazing I will definitely be taking a closer look.

  4. when Mr Twit keeps adding to the bottom of Mrs Twits chair and walking stick to make her think she has the “Shrinks”

  5. Itching powder on the toilet seat, Iv’e thought about cling film but I would be the one cleaning up after

  6. Oh there are so many great ones aren’t there, we love when Mr Twit glues wood onto Mrs Twits items – cane, chair etc so she thinks she is shrinking

  7. I used to love this book when I was little and I’m not going to Google an answer but I’m sure I remember one of them gluing all the furniture to the ceiling? I could be wrong but I’m sure they did that

  8. The worm spaghetti! To be honest its the only one I remember, and something to do with an eye, but the worm spaghetti used to stick in my head when I was a kid, and I always told my baby brother that that was how spaghetti was made!
I really should read this to my four little ‘uns! 🙂
