Family time

So far this year has been unusually busy. We’ve sold our house and bought a new one so fingers crossed everything will go smoothly and in a couple of months we’ll be happily installed in our new home. To celebrate finally having an offer accepted we decided to have a lovely family day today. The weather has been atrocious but we ventured out to do our weekly food shop at Tesco after treating the children to a couple of hours at our local soft play centre.

At least when the weather is bad as it has been you don’t feel guilty about spending time at home. This afternoon we watched a DVD (Disney Pixar Cars, the toddlers favourite), bathed the children and enjoyed preparing a special Sunday night dinner. I have to admit that we chose a delicious ready-made pie but made sure to prepare all the potatoes and vegetables so everyone could enjoy them. We also treated ourselves to some Coke (full fat for him, Diet for me), and even some ice-cream for pudding.

It’s been a lovely relaxing day, very well-needed, and it was great to not have much to do. After dinner we relaxed by doing puzzles and reading books without the tv on and an early night for the terrible two. We’re completely restored for another week, hope you all had a lovely weekend too. And if you fancy taking a look at more pictures from our family day check out my Google+ album, you might like to follow me on Google+ too 🙂

  1. Nothing like an enjoyable weekend with the family to prepare you for the week ahead, congratulations on selling the house.

  2. That to me sounds like the perfect family sunday, don’t think I could better that if I tried! Sounds like it’s just what you all needed too. And congrats on selling your house! 🙂 x
