Win a copy of the children’s classic Dogger by Shirley Hughes

Last month the author Shirley Hughes turned 90 and happily shared her birthday month with one of her most treasured creations – public favourite, and retail bestseller, Dogger which celebrates it’s 40th anniversary.

Dogger is a favourite picture book in our house. In case you haven’t read it, it features a boy and his stuffed dog, who is lost. I think this is every parents worse nightmare! Thankfully the boy’s sister has an opportunity to earn Dogger back and the story has a happy ending. Phew!

To honour Shirley Hughes’s incredible talent and unwavering success over the past 90 years, Penguin Random House Children’s have released two stunning new editions of Dogger: a beautiful re-jacketed hardback containing an exclusive letter from Shirley, and a paperback book + CD package with an audio reading from acclaimed actress and lifetime fan, Olivia Colman.

Across its 40 year history, Dogger has sold over 200,000 copies in the UK alone, with Shirley’s lifetime sales exceeding 3.5million. This timeless, endearing and familiar story of a lost toy and his eventual rediscovery is a must-have in every home and for every generation, with echoes of love, loss and heartfelt reunions to which every parent and child will be able to relate.

A beautiful story about the joy and security of having a special toy, and how big sisters can come to the rescue.
