The other day Little Sis was watching me sew something and she said she would like to try. I would be so happy if my children wanted to learn to sew. It’s a useful skill but also a great hobby. Luckily for Little Sis I had a sweet little kit all ready for her, the daisy headband kit from Hobbycraft.
The kit contained everything needed to make a daisy headband – pre-cut felt shapes, plastic needle, thread and a white headband. I’ve never made anything like this before but my daughter has an obsession with headbands, which she’s always worn at a rather jaunty angle on her forehead.
She was really taken with the kit so wanted to help. Unfortunately she’s a bit young for the kit but I’m definitely going to let her loose with the plastic needle and a piece of fabric.
I took the kit away with us over the weekend and it was great for picking up during the quieter moments. There were enough felt pieces to make three daisies with small, medium and large felt pieces.
Then I stitched the daisies and leaves to another pre-cut oval shape which was fitted and sewn around the headband.
The kit came together really quickly and was fun to make. My daughter really likes her new DIY daisy headband from Hobbycraft. I think it’s great for fun festival fashion or a tea party and I can’t wait to see what other craft kits they have.
